As the saying goes: Dogs that bark don't bite. In our case, however, this is of secondary importance. Because here it would be better if the dog didn't bark. Barking disturbance of rest is a topic that concerns many garden owners and their neighbors.
And these can also act against it. Because when dogs bark, but also when the dog whines or whines, guidelines must be followed.
- A dog is not allowed to bark between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and noon between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
- At other times, it is not permitted if the animal barks more than ten minutes at a time.
- In total, the dog shouldn't bark for more than half an hour during the day.
The neighbor has the task of accommodating the dog in such a way that the barking no longer disturbs. Whoever talks to the neighbor in a friendly manner will surely find a solution that goes without a legal dispute.
However, bothering neighbors with legal texts and duties rarely leads to the goal. It would be better in the long run if you could "persuade" him to stop the dog from barking. That would be a win-win situation for both sides. There is a successful guide from dog trainer Johanna Esser who deals very well with the problem of barking dogs and has proven itself many times.
